Dennis T. C. Tang (Taiwan) is a Visiting Professor at the University of Tokyo for 2001~2002 and a Senior Research Fellow at the Sun Yat-Sen Institute for Social Sciences and Philosophy, Academia Sinica in Taiwan, and a Professor of Law at the Graduate Institute of National Development at National Taiwan University.  He specializes in Constitutional, Administrative, and Environmental Law and has taught in these fields since 1989. He has served as legal consultant or commissioner at various government agencies, including the Commission on Government Reorganization of the Executive Yuan (the Cabinet), the Commission on Statutes and Regulations of the Ministry of the Interior and the Environmental Protection Agency; and the Administrative Appeals Commission of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of National Defense.  He also served as Board Member and Director of the End-of-Life Vehicle Recycling Committee/ Fund and the End-of-Life General Containers Recycling Committee/ Fund.  In addition to numerous publications in Chinese, his English articles have appeared in the Administrative Law Review, Pacific Rim Law and Policy Journal, Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law, and Jahrbuch des Umwelt-und-Technikrechts (Germany).  He is also a member of the IUCN Commission on Environmental Law.  He received his LL.B. and LL.M. from the National Taiwan University in 1978 and 1981 respectively, LL.M. from Harvard Law School, US in 1984, and S.J.D. from Tulane Law School, New Orleans, US in 1989.
